From Evert In Den Hoffen (2): DOB, POB, and DOD [10 September 2016]

I've seen folks citing the 21 MAY 1650 DOB, but I don't know what it is based on. A DOB of 1750 is more commonly used, mostly because the date is effectively undocumented.

Most give the POB of his children as Mulheim an der Ruhr. You'll occasionally see a reference to them being born in Menden (a good distance from Mulheim) but baptized in Mulheim. That alone seems rather strange, but might be true. I don't know the basis for saying that he himself was born in Menden.

The 4 Mar 1728 "DOD" refers to the date on which Evert and Elizabeth sold/gave a parcel of land to their son Peter. That is to say, they were alive on that date. The best that you can say about this is that their DOD is after 1728. Also, they did not die in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County. By 1728 they were living in the Skippack-Perkiomen area. It was still Philadelphia county at the time, but not within the limits of the City of Philadelphia. Most would give their location as Montgomery County, since that's where Skippack-Perkiomen is now located.

Ancestry Public member trees are not a useful source. They can be used for information purposes (i.e., what other people have found, and use that to shape further work) but the PMT's themselves are not particularly credible, and should not be used.
