Person talk:Euphrasine Nicolet (1)

Sauvagesse Nipissirinienne, Marie-Madeleine Euphrosine Nicolet, Métis 1626-1698

This is a call out to all descendents of Jean Nicolet de Belleborne‘s marriage (county) to Sauvagesse Nipissirinienne, Marie-Madeleine Euphrosine Nicolet, Métis 1626-1698.

Times are changing in Canada. Under the Constitution Of Canada 1982, Metis are recognized as one of the three aboriginal peoples in Canada. We now have our aboriginal rights. Under the Constitution to be metis you have to have an aboriginal ancestor, self profess to be metis and to belong to a metis community.

As chief of my community, I am putting out this request for my relatives who are descendant of this grand mother or any other aboriginal grandmother to join our aboriginal community. The Metis of Canada are coming together we know who we are but we now have communal rights if you join a community.

This is not a fund raiser!!! This is a joining of families back together.
