Person talk:Elizabeth Unknown (3912)

No Credible Evidence of Elizabeth's Origin or Parentage. [5 January 2012]

There appears to be no credible evidence for the origin or parentage of Elizabeth -----, wife of Robert Andrews and Henry Pinder. Torrey (through supplement three), does not give her even a conjectural surname. The 1890 Robert Andrews genealogy identifies her only as Elizabeth without surname or a discussion of her origin. Both of her husbands have Great Migration sketches: Robert Andrews, TGM 1:52-56; and Henry Pinder, TGM 5:466-68, neither of which gives her a surname. In the Andrews sketch, Robert Charles Anderson says that she was probably a widow when she married Andrews and then goes on to a detailed discussion of a daughter, Elizabeth, from her earlier marriage, who married Humphrey Griffin and then Hugh Sherratt. Absent better evidence than that originating with unsourced entries on familysearch.org or Rootsweb's World Connect, it would seem that identifying her with a "Franklin" (or any other) birth surname is not appropriate.--jaques1724 20:24, 5 January 2012 (EST)
