Shooting of Damon Torbett [14 July 2011]

I have family that lived in Arkansas at the time of this incident..and have heard a diffrent version. This is all old history..do you know the name of the Mr. Hood that was a partner in the sawmill? My Great-Great Grandfather was married to a Hood and I am curious if there was a connection. I am sorry this ever happend.--Netta lee 13:08, 13 July 2011 (EDT)

Hi..I was told by a family member that my own great grandfather was accused of the shooting..but that someone else confessed. I was told someone named Sid Littleton confessed..I have no idea if this is correct..but I do not think it is correct..according to the family member this Mr. Littleton made a death bed confession..and I believe he died in the 1930's??. I do not know the Torbett family and only found out about this unfortunate circumstance a couple of years ago. I am a member of ancestry.com and will check on Fred Torbett for you. My cousin is researching this incident and I will inform you if I find anything further.--Netta lee 20:23, 13 July 2011 (EDT)

I looked up Fred Torbett. It appears he was the youngest child of Damon Torbett and Sarah Battenfield(sp). He was born April 8th 1892 in Arkansas and died January 28th, 1966 in Norco, Riverside. Ca.--Netta lee 20:57, 13 July 2011 (EDT)
