Which of the listed sources "backs up" Daniel's birth and death dates. Neither of the dates seems to appear in the Wethersfield Vital Records ? Please place S1, S2 etc in the citation boxes provided. the birth notation in Vital Records says "Daniell, son of Samuel & Marie, b ___ 4, ___" only. Unreadable from the original. Have you seen the original? I have a copy of the transcription by Coralyn Brown where someone has added the date it reads "Daniell, son Samuel & Marie, b ___4, ____. [Aug. 4, 1658]"--Scot 19:08, 27 February 2010 (EST) No, I haven't. I was hoping one of the listed sources (not mine) may have been calculated by some other means, or gathered from a bible record, etc. --Neal Gardner 10:12, 1 March 2010 (EST) The Boardman Genealogy, p. 198 (published 1895), which I have found to be a fairly well-researched book, gives Aug 4 1658. History of Ancient Wethersfield, 2:110 (published 1904) says "Daniel, b. 4 Aug., 1658. [yr. wanting in W. Rec. prob. 1656.--S. W. A.]" Aug 1656 is too close to his older sister Sarah's birth (Mar 1655/56). I have added citations to this record. --DataAnalyst 22:05, 18 March 2012 (EDT) |
