Duplicate parents [27 December 2009]

This person is assigned two different sets of parents. Please check your sources and help clean up this page. As there are also two wives, it is possible that you have combined two different Clarences. --Judy (jlanoux) 11:10, 27 December 2009 (EST) (WeRelate volunteer)

Clarence Elbert Reedy was my mother's father. I know only of one set of parents for him:

    Daniel H. Reedy  2/1848 Perry OH - 1921 Calhoun IA
    Nellie J. Leonard  8/1850 OH - after 1930 Council Bluffs, IA

    They were married 9/15/1870 Toledo, Tama Co., IA

Any other people belong to someone else, not my Clarence.

But Clarence did have two wives.

    My grandmother, Bessie May Corfman 4/27/1881 Toledo, Tama, IA -- 1/11/1960 Altadena, Los Angeles, CA divorced Clarence
    in 1927.

Clarence married again, to: a lady named Emma V. He met her in a bar, told her his name was "Pat", the name he used when he was drinking, and told her he was five years younger than he actually was. I learned this information from the San Diego Recorder, who couldn't give me a Death Certificate for Clarence Reedy, who died on February 20, 1938. but he did have a Patrick Reedy, from the same birthplace, Toledo IA, but born in October 1882.

In the last paragraph, second line, had to add "younger". Does this help?
