Charles Howard, and Cyrus J. Howard, although both apparently married to a Mary Curley, may not be the same person. We need to compare their children.--Acurley 15:06, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

In the marriage record of Charles Howard as transcribed at Findmypast, Charles Howard, son of James Howard and Nancy Letts, married Mary Curley, daughter of John Curley and Delia McCormick, in Manhattan, on 23 January 1873.

In 1880, in Manhattan, Charles (b. Michigan of NY born parents) and Mary (b. Ireland) Howard, were living at 87 Tenth Avenue with their children, Kate (7), Samuel(5), Frank (4), Mary (2), and William (3/12, b. Feb.), and Mary's brother Thomas Curley (29).

In a history of the Howard Family, Cyrus J. Howard, son of Samuel Lilly Howard and Nancy Hood Riggs, born 12 Nov 1846, was said to have moved to New York by 1871 and married Mary Curley, and their children were: Kate, b. 1873, md. John Clark, no children; Samuel Lilly, b. 1874, d. March 1896; Francis E., b. 1875, md. Nora Kelly, one child, Charles; Mary, b. 1878, md. George Peach (no children); William Jay b. 1880.

The 1850 census for Homer, Calhun, Michigan, has a 3-year-old Cyrus Howard, son of Samuel L. and Nancy Howard.
