John M. Snider (????-1846)
- 1846 will written and probated in 1846. Says that John is a resident of New Salem; probate in Fairfield County.
- Will names wife Ann; mentions children, but does not name them.
- No records found in findagrave or billiongraves
- There is an Ann Snyder, a. 34, heading a household in New Salem in the 1850 census. She is too young to be Catharine's mother. If this Ann is John M's widow, then John M seems an unlikely candidate to be Catherine's father (Ann would need to be a second wife, and at least 30 years younger).
Abraham Syder (abt 1790-aft 1850)
- Abraham, a. 60, is the oldest male Snyder in the Fairfield 1850 census. However, if his and Catherine's census ages are correct, he is a bit too young to be her father.
