Person talk:Andrew Ford (2)

Will and Source [15 February 2014]

Jrich, May I ask why you chose to put Andrew's will - along with the source - in the Personal History section rather than the Reference section? Looking at page layout...

BTW, your work re: his wife, Mercy, is first-rate. Cleared up a number of loose ends in the work of Paula Porter Griffen - and others...--Frank 03:32, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

The info about Mercy was not mine, merely spent some gathering sources. Can't say what motivated me about the page format. There is no standard template for Person pages (e.g., probate goes here, timeline goes here, origins goes here, etc.) So each page is influenced by whatever pages I was working on previously, the length of the sources, etc. Sometimes I put everything as a source, sometimes I feel it is a shame nobody has written anything about a person, sometimes I worry nobody wades through the sources, and so on. Also, my approach and what the community as a whole does has changed considerably over time. Ultimately, everybody has a different style but if the source is identified and it communicates accurately, that's the main point. You should feel free to move it around if you want. --Jrich 05:21, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
