AUDREY MOORE SMITH

Audrey Moore "Mamaw" Smith, 97 of El Dorado, departed this life Friday, September 24, 2004 at Medical Center of South Arkansas following a brief illness.

Born January 7, 1907 in the Hillsboro Community of Union County, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Peter Clavery and Margaret Jane ,Jennie, Lewis Moore. Mrs. Smith was the last survivor of 42 cousins, the direct descendants of the six children of William Jefferson and Dartha Johnson Moore, early Union County pioneer settlers. She was a homemaker and an 80 year member of the Soul's Chapel Church of Christ.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death along with her parents, her husband, George L. Smith, two sons, Jack D. Smith and Ronnie H. Smith, three sisters, Ellen Pipes, Lettie Bryan and Trudie Strickland and two brothers, Robert Moore and Elbert Moore.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Y. Gardner of El Dorado, three grand-daughters, Susie Pruitt and her husband David, Jodi Taylor and her husband Steve and Janie Reddin, three grandsons, "Buck" Smith and his wife Amy, Clete Gardner and James Smith all of El Dorado. There are 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild along with many relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Sunday, September 26 in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Craig Cemetery.
