KALONA - Zola Kathryn Rediger was born Friday, November 3, 1916 in Milford, NE the daughter of James and Mabel (Eicher) Klopfenstein. On December 5, 1937 she was united in marriage to Sterling Rediger in Spartansburg, PA. They lived in Pennsylvania and Nebraska before moving to Iowa in 1956. She was a member of the Kalona Christian Fellowship Church. Zola died on Monday, January 16, 2006 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 89 years.

Zola is survived by 7 children - Marilyn Hamrick and husband Dale of Kalona; Mabel Schumann and husband Dwight of Kalona; Larry Rediger and wife Wanda of Wellman; Bernard Rediger and wife Paula of Iowa City; Virginia Miller and husband Byron of Scottsbluff, NE; Jerry Rediger and wife Leann of Kalona; Randy Rediger of Iowa City; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 3 sisters - Fern Graber and Dorothy Morningstar of Goshen, IN; Edith Wogomon of Wakarusa, IN; 4 brothers - Wayne Klopfenstein of Colorado Springs, CO; Theodore Klopfenstein and Keith Klopfenstein of Elkhart, IN; and Wilbur Klopfenstein of Goshen, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter - Amanda Miller; 2 sisters - Bernice Hauder, Betty Klopfenstein; and a brother - Harry Klopfenstein.



Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at the Kalona Christian Fellowship Church. Officiating will be Shawn Powell and Cloy Roth. Burial will be in the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona where the family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.


A Memorial Fund has been established for the Pleasantview Home.
