Facts and Events
Zerelda Reynolds was the daughter of Henry Reynolds and Deborah Halsell. They may have lived at first near the "Natural Bridge" area in Pike County, Missouri, but by 1830 they were counted in the census in Waverly township, Lincoln County, Missouri, where they settled. Waverly township is in the northwest corner of Lincoln County. They and their children came to Missouri from Bourbon County, Kentucky, where Henry Reynolds was in the 1820 census of North Middletown. Zerelda married Reynolds Milton Elledge, the son of Benjamin Elledge, in Pike County, Illinois. Benjamin's mother Charity was the daughter of Edward Boone and was Daniel Boone's niece. Benjamin is said to have been born in Boonesborough, Kentucky. Benjamin's family first moved to Indiana from Kentucky and then to Griggsville, Pike County, Illinois, where Benjamin opened a stave factory and a grist mill. Benjamin's wife was Catherine Reynolds, fostered as a child by Samuel Reynolds. Zerelda and Reynolds had one daughter, Alice Elledge. Alice married Dr. John Carter. They lived in Caldwell, Missouri, next to Zerelda and Reynolds M. Elledge in 1880. References
