Facts and Events
Name[1][2] Zebulon Thayer
Gender Male
Birth? 29 Aug 1711 Braintree, Suffolk County, MA
Death? 1767 Braintree, Suffolk County, MA

According to the Braintree genealogies, Zebulon was born 29 August 1711 at Braintree, but according to the Dorchester church records, he was christened 3 September 1710.

Moses Curtis, innholder, of Dorchester (later Avon), was made guardian of Zebulon Thayer 5 June "17-(24?)".
The baptisms of his children are in the records of the South Precinct Church, and also in the town records, but there is a conflict in the dates and the names.
Zebulon probably died between March and October 1767. No settlement of his estate is on record but from deeds it is learned that his heirs had a small house lot on present South Main Street, Randolph, near the Town Hall, opposite the old High School. He was dead before the first deed dated 9 October 1767, but he (or possibly his son Zebulon) witnessed a deed in March 1767. His widow Sarah and sons Asa & Elias sold the house lot 11 November 1775 (Norfolk Deeds 14-151) "near Rev. Mr. Taft's meeting house in Braintree" while they were living at Northampton (now Westhampton). Previously his homestead had been on what is now called Pond Lane between Oak Street and Great Pond a part of which he sold 9 June 1737 to John Dyer.
