1860 census (July) not born yet 1870 census (Aug)-age 11 (error...9 ) 1880 census (June)-age 18 (should be 19-20, based on above info) ED 71, Henrico, Virginia, USA p259D 1890 census-lost in fire 1895 birth record for son, W.W. Jordan, he is listed as W.H.Jordan; occupation blacksmith 1898-listed as a surviving son in fathers obituary. 1900 census-born Aug 1862-listed with wife, Nannie and children, James and Walter...no other children listed although they'd been married for 9 years, since 1891. It says Nannie had 5 (might say 3,6,8-hard to read) children of which 2 are living. Says her mother born in Germany (apparently in error) -his occupation blacksmith. 1910 census-age 47-In 1910 census, he is listed with wife Cassie (married 2 years) & 6 children including Walter from Nannie and 5 others (James from Nannie is missing, Earl from Nannie is living with his Uncle Thomas Tyree). Although all are listed as Jordans, the 5 are actually Wiltshires (Cassie's from previous marriage). Also says Winston had 10 children, 10 living. This statistic should belong to Cassie. 1930 census (April)- age 68 wih wife Cassie. 1888-1890-Richmond City Directory-occupation, blacksmith-2014 E Main Street listed alphabetically below father Williiam M. at 6th st-wheelwright 1930-Died-Buried Division D, Section D, Lot 29, Quarter 2, Oakwood Cemetery is the location of record. Original owner, William M. Jordan, purchased 5/31/1894. Lot transferred to Josephine Jones (Winstons half sister) on 4/22/1897; transferred to Thomas E. Tyree (Nannies brother) September 22, 1954. Jerri Strombeck has cause of death as angina pectoris. Death certificated lists mother as Mary Gill (in error...Mary Ann Wade's mother remarried when she was 3 and all her siblings were name Gill). Info was provided by Cassie Sheeler (Winstons 4 th wife). First record of his middle name-Hamley on death certificate, also given to me by Oakwood Cemetary. Living at 1123 N. 27th St. in Jefferson Ward of Richmond when he died.
