Rev. Winslow Warren Sever, a grand-nephew of Ensign James Sever, to whose seat he succeeded in 1871. A son of James and Mercy Foster (Russell) Sever, he was born in Kingston Jan 31 1832, died in Lee, Mass July 15 1894, unmarried. A.B. Harvard, 1853; S.T.B. Theological Seminary of Virginia, 1856; ordained Priest (Protestant Episcopal) March 5, 1857; served parishes in Brooklyn NY, Newton Lower Falls, Mass; Lonsdale RI; Assistant Pastor of Saint Luke's Hospital, New York; and Rector at Central Falls, RI.
