Wilma "Jean" Albers, 88, of Olney, IL, died on December 16, 2020 at
Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. She was born April 20, 1932, in York Township, Clark Co., IL, the daughter of Cecil "Pete" & Ellen (Riggs) Crumrin, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Joe Thompson (West Union, IL); husband, Harold Albers (Clinton, IN); and two sisters, Maxene and Norma.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Stephen & Sharon Thompson (Newton, IL); her daughter-in-law, Mollie Thompson (Moline, IL); and by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Jean was a self-professed "people person". Few things brought more life to her living than simply interacting with others. It was her others-centered nature that led her to become a nursing assistant, which was, by all accounts, more of a calling than a job. She found great purpose and meaning in caring for others, not just professionally, but in her personal life as well. Her family and friends have benefitted from this dear woman's heart and will forever cherish memories of countless hours spent playing cards or dominoes with her.

Jean Albers lived a life marked by humor and honesty, but most of all, it was marked by love.

Due to the newly-increased public safety measures being enforced by the State of Illinois, services will be private. Jean will be laid to rest in the Hutsonville Cemetery. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union is in charge of arrangements.

In honor of her love of cats, memorial contributions may be made to the "Crawford County Humane Society".
