Wilma Melissa Coleman of Renton, formerly of Issaquah, died March 16, 2004, at her home. She was 91.
A memorial service was held at Renton Highlands Community Church. Wilma was born September 25, 1912, in Portland, Oregon, to John Tilnay and Melissa Pearl Ferrington Conwell. She was raised in Portland where she graduated from Jefferson High School. Wilma moved to West Seattle in 1940 and Issaquah in 1965. In 1972 she moved to Renton.
Wilma was employed at The Issaquah Press in the 1970's as classified advertising manager.
In her leisure time she enjoyed watching soap operas, working on penny drives for Children's Orthopedic Hospital, long drives with friends and spending time at the ocean in Seaside, Oregon.
In her earlier years she also enjoyed modeling, working with young women and being a Girl Scout Leader.
Her family will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whose home was always open to her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Finlay of Des Moines; daughter, Joan Kay Miller of Irrigon, Oregon; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a good friend Fred Marler of Issaquah.
Wilma first married Donald Finlay, May 26, 1935.
