Will Abstract
- Will of William Willson of Augusta County and State of Virginia
- Second. I will and Bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Willson the use and benefit of the whole balance of my estate, both real and personal for the time of during her natural life, it is further my will that my said wife is hereby authorized to distribute or dispose of by will or otherwise at her death, the number of slaves that will then be on hand and the one half of my house and kitchen furniture amongst her brothers and sisters including her sister Jane McPheeter's heirs as she think will be most for their advantage to be enjoyed by them their heirs and assigns forever.
- Third I allow and do hereby impower my hereafter named executors (after the death of my wife) to sell the whole remainder of my estate both real and personal and out of the monies arising from such sales pay to my brother Matthew the one fifth part, and to my sisters Sally and Ellen to each of them one fifth part to my brother Johns heirs the one fifth part*, to be enjoyed by them their heirs forever.
- I hereby release my brother Matthew, exor. of the estate of my father Matthew Wilson dec'd from paying any monies as claims against him as exor. as aforesaid for lands that was conveyed to be by my father and taken from me by other better claims.
- Fourth lastly. I hereby constitute and appoint my brother Matthew Wilson and John Sproul sold exrs. of this my last will and Testament.
- In witness whereof I the said William Willson have hereunto set my hand and seal on this 11th day of January in the year 1836.

- Acknowledged by the said Wm. Willson to be his last will & Testament in the presents of:
- Henry Mish, John Cale, Simon Runkle
- Augusta County Court May Term 1837
- This last will and testament of Wm. Willson dec'd was presented in Court & proved by the oaths of the subscribing witnesses hereto and ordered to be recorded, and on the motion of John Sprowl, one of the executors herein named who made oath hereto according to law, and with Matthew Willson Sr. & Matthew Willson Jr. his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of ten thousand dollars conditioned as the law required, which bond is ordered to be recorded, certificate is granted the said John Sproul for all ___ a probat of said will in due form. Matthew Willson the other exr. is herein ___ appearance in Court and refused to take upon himself the burthen of the ___ will.
