    Reportedly married 5 times (I can identify only 3) with at least 9 children, and also had a number of illegitimate children (some raised by various of his wives). Worked as a surveyor. First County Clerk of Scott County in 1850s. Capt., Co. G, 7th Tennessee (U.S.). He was captured, may have been in Libby Prison, later exchanged in Virginia, 1862.
