Probably living in Oyster River (now Durham), New Hampshire when his parents were killed by Indians; in 1711 he and 2 younger brothers, Richard and Joseph, became wards of their uncle, William Wheeler of Concord, Massachusetts; after his marriage he moved to Dorchester where he bought land from the Puncapoag Indians in 1726 under a special authorization of the General Court (the land was in what later became Stoughton and is now Canton); died in the 80th year of his age.tombstone photo Lineage .
