    To my Kinsman William Walby and his heirs that now lives with me all that my copyhold Lands Tenements and hereditaments holden of the Manor of Astwick in the parish of Bishops Hatfield that I now live in and which I purchased of Mr John Searancke Also all that Freehold Estate Lands Tenements and hereditaments called Riddle and part whereof now in my own occupation and part let to the parish of Hatfield and which I purchased of Mr William Phipps Butcher
    To my kinswoman Martha Tasker & her heirs who now lives with me all that my Freehold Estates Lands & Tenements and hereditaments situate lying and being in Barter Dale in the Town and parish of Bishops Hatfield and now in the several Tenures and Occupations of John Wellingham his undertenants or assigns Joseph Redhall and John Ambrose
    To my kinswoman Lydia Walby and her heirs who now lives with me and is Sister to the above mentioned William Walby All that my freehold Farm called Aston End together with all lands Tenements and hereditaments that have usually been let therewith lying and being in the parish of Aston in the said county of Hertford and now lett to Benjamin Kimpton Farmer at the yearly Rent of Twenty seven pounds
    To my kinswoman Dorcas Walby and her heirs and another sister of the above mentioned William Walby those two cottages or Tenements together with all their appurtenances as they now are in the several Tenures or occupation of _ Camfield usually called [?] Camfield & _ Widow Situate lying and being at Sacomb Corner in the parish of Aston aforesaid
    To my kinsman George Walby the Elder of Aston All that my Freehold Estate consisting [blank] acres of land now let to John Cooke Farmer situate lying and being in the parish of [blank] Mundane in the County of Hertford for and during the Term of his natural life and from and after his decease to his Son George Walby and his heirs but if he should depart this life without Issue and before his Father then to his Brother Benjamin Walby
    To my said kinsman George Walby the Elder all my Freehold Stall situate lying and being in the Market Place of the Town and Borough of Hertford & his heirs
    To my Kinswoman Martha Tasker above mentioned one hundred pounds
    To my kinswoman Lydia Walby above mentioned fifty pounds
    To my kinsman George Walby the Elder of Aston all such Sums of Monies that he shall be indebted to me at the time of my decease and the sum of Thirty pounds
    To William Walby Elizabeth Walby the Son and Daughter of the abovesaid George Walby the Elder by his first Wife ten pounds each
    To James Beartury my Servant Ten pounds
    To Dorcas Walby Mary Walby George Walby Charity Walby Benjamin Walby John Walby Edward Walby and Charles Walby the sum of Ten pounds as they shall respectively attain the age of twenty one years and in case any or either of them shall depart this life under the age of twenty one then to be divided share and share alike among the survivors the above named are the sons and daughters of the said George Walby by his present wife
    To my Kinsman Benjamin Walby of Aston Carpenter thirty pounds
    To my Kinsman William Thorpe late of Benington Farmer thirty pounds to pay the legacy of one hundred and fifty pounds left by the late Nathaniel Phipps to Mary Phipps his neice and the daughter of William Phipps
    The household Furniture & plate & Linen & China late belonging to my Sister Mary Phipps Widow to Martha Tasker aforesaid
    the Furniture of the house that I now live in the plate and Linnen & China equally to be divided between William Walby and his sister Lydia aforesaid that now live with me (except what is given to Martha Tasker)
    All the Wearing Apparel of my said late Sister to be equally divided between the said Martha Tasker and Lydia Walby
    I Give the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estates both Real and personal to my kinsman William Walby that now lives with me I do hereby constitute and appoint Mr John Atkinson Surgeon and Mr Samuel Hare Baker Executors to this my last Will and Testament and do Give and bequeath the Sum of Ten pounds each for their Trouble
    March 5 1764 W[illia]m Walby Signed Sealed and Published by William Walby of Hatfield Butcher for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and subscribing Witnesses to the same in his presence and of the presence of each other the day and year above mentioned Ann Boytone, J. Searancke, John Palmer
    26th March 1764
    Which day appeared personally John Searancke of Hatfield in the County of Hertford Esq[ui]r[e] and being Sworn on the Holy Evangelists to Swear the Truth deposed as follows that he well knew and was acquainted with William Walby late of Hatfield in the County of Hertford aforesaid deceased and he this Deponent did by the particular desire of him the said deceased take Instructions from him for the making of his last Will and Testament and pursuant to such his Directions and Instructions which he gave him By word of Mouth he this Deponent did Draw the Will of him the said Deceased hereunto annexed beginning To my Kinsman William Walby and his heirs and ending I do hereby Constitute and appoint Mr John Atkinson Surgeon and Mr Samuel Hare Baker Executors to this my last Will and Testament and do Give and bequeath the Sum of ten pounds each for their Trouble March 5 1764 and subscribed W[illia]m Walby which will he the said William Walby deceased executed in the presence of him this Deponent Ann Boyton and John Palmer this Deponents fellow Witnesses thereto who attested the same with him as such in the presence of him the said Testator and of each other as thereon now appears he this Deponent having first read over the said Will to him the said deceased and in the presence of the said several Witnesses and he the said Testator approved of the same in this Deponents presence and in the presence of the said several Witnesses and at such time he the said Testator was of sound Mind Memory and understanding and well understood what he then said and did and he further deposed that the said Will was so executed by him the said deceased with the several obliterations and Interlineations as the same now appears which were so done by him this Deponent and approved of by him the Deceased and that the Legacy to Mrs Martha Tasker in the Seventeenth line in the second Side thereof scratcht out from fifty and interlined one hundred in the next line and also the Legacy to Lydia Walby in the Eighteenth line on the same side thereof scratcht out from twenty and interlined fifty was done by this Deponent by the particular order and Direction of him the said deceased and by him well approved off and executed afterwards by him the said deceased in the same manner plight and condition as the same now appears in every part thereof in th presence of him this Deponent and his said Fellow Witnesses who subscribed their Names as such in the manner as the same also now appears all which he Deposes to be true. J. Searmancke same day the said John Searancke Esq[ui]r[e] was Sworn to the truth of the above affid[avi]t before me Geo[rge] Harris Surrogate Present Rob[er]t Bogg Not[ar]y Pub[lic]
    This Will was proved at London on the thirty first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty four before the worshipful George Harris Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Sir Edward Simpson Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Presrogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of John Atkinson and Samuel Hare the Executors named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer
