William J. Thomas, 92, of Northampton, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away Thursday, Aug. 12 in Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Twp. He was the husband of Catherine T. (Theresa) Thomas. They celebrated their 38th anniversary last September. He was previously married to LaRue (Snyder) Thomas, who died in 1961. Born in McComas, W.Va., he was a son of the late William J. and Almeria (White) Thomas. He was a former professional sign painter and was a craneman and furnace many in the heavy forge department for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 25 years retiring in 1976. William was a member of the Jehovahs Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Bethlehem. He was a member of the Organ Club, Bethlehem.
Survivors: Wife; daughters, Joneal D., wife of Nicholas Lindtner, of Allentown and Melinda, wife of Richard Schleicher, of Slatington; sister, Thelma P. Wall of Spartansburg, S.C.; grandson, Delsin Lindtner; granddaughters, Denise Stein and Dawn Oswald; great-grandsons, Jess Oswald, Tyler Oswald; great-great-granddaughter, Logan Oswald; stepdaughter, Rita Fassman of Whitehall; stepgrandson, Douglas Fassman.
Services: memorial, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, Jehovahs Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 2718 Linden St., Bethlehem. Arrangements by Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
