1868 - Birth: William Thom was born on February 18, 1868 in Ontario. Source is 1901 Census of Canada.

1871 - Census: William 3 was living with his parents Archibald Thom 30 and Sarah Thom 26 and 3 other children: Agnes 7, John 5, and Alexander 1 month in Osprey Township. Source is 1871 Census of Canada.

1881 - Census: William 13 was living with his mother Sarah Thom 36 and siblings Agnes (listed as Ann in the census) 18, John 15, Alexander 10 and Harry 5 in Osprey. Source is 1881 Census of Canada. Archibald was not listed in this census.

1891 - Census: On April 6, 1891, William Thom 23 was living with his parents Archibald Thom 52, school teacher, and Sarah Thom 44 along with his 5 siblings: Agnes (spelled Agmes in this census 27, John (spelled Joker in this census) 25, Alexander 19, Harry (spelled Hary in this census) 15 and Ruth 10 in Armour Township, Muskoka and Parry Sound. Source is 1891 Census of Canada.

1901 - Census: On April 6, 1901, William Thom 33 was living with his parents Archibald Thom 63, publisher, Sarah 56 and sister Ruth (listed here as Ruby) 20 in Sundridge, Ontario. John Harper 39, partner of Archibald Thom, Frances Chapman 13, lodger and Barbara McNiven 21, board-in lodger were listed in the same household. Arch Thom was the enumerator for this census. 1906 - Census: On July 6, 1906, William Thom, 38, unmarried, was living with his parents Archibald Thom 63 (same age as in 1901?) Sarah 58 on a farm at Quill Lake at Section 24, Township 36, Range 17, Meridian W2. The family is listed directly after the John Thom family in the census so they must have lived close by. Source is 1906 Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta census.

1911 - Census: In June, 1911, William Thom 43, farmer, unmarried, was living by himself on a farm at Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. Source is 1911 Canada census. NOTE: He is listed directly after the Harry Thom family. A few lines down, Mary Mitchell 38, farmer, head of household is listed. Her household included her daughter Olive 19, son Bert 12 and daughter Gertrude 6. Source is 1911 Census of Canada.

1916 - NOTE: The 1916 census for Quill Lake area, Humboldt District 18 sub-district 21, is listed by Library and Archives Canada as "Missing".

1921 - Census: In June 1921, William Thom 52 was living with his wife Mary C 48 and his step-daughter Gertrude Mitchell 16 on the farm at 24-36-17-2W, Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. Source is 1921 Canada census.

1942 - Death and Burial: William Thom died on Dec 22, 1942 at Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. Source is several family trees in Ancestry.ca. NEEDS TO BE VERIFIED AS THEY LISTED NO SOURCES. No grave marker in Quill Lake Cemetery.
