  2.   Tanner, George C. (George Clinton). William Tanner of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and his descendants. (Minneapolis, Minnesota: G.C. Tanner, 1905).

    The description of the land as deeded by Henry Tibbitts to his grandson William Tanner, shows that the land lay in North Kingstown, and was the land owned by his descendants until within a few years. "One Hundred and Fifty Acres, bounded by George Tibbitts, Arthur Aylesworth, John Briggs *** it being the s*** given to said Tanner By the the last Will and [t]estament of me, to have and to hold, &c., *** after the decease of me the said Henry Tibbitts the deceased ***bbitts, to him the said William Tanner his heirs, And the said H*** with the said William Tanner *** times forever hereafter the Decease of me the said Hen*** te of my wife Sarah Tibbitts.
    Witness that this is my Deed of Gift, &c.,
