    William Suddath, born Fairfax County, Virginia, 1751, son of Benjamin and Silent Suddath. He married in Virginia Lettie Smith who was born at Manassas, Virginia and her home right on what was afterwards the battle ¬field, near Old Stone House. Above information gained when J. B. Suddath was soldier in Virginia. Met a young Suddath about his age and a fellow soldier and they could see themselves their likeness to each other. The other Suddath showed him where Lettie Smiths home had been. William Suddath was with Green; wounded at Battle of Hobkirk Hill, near Camden, South Carolina. After the war he moved to South Carolina, Cedar Springs, Spartanburg County. He is buried about 2 miles from Saluda CourtHouse. Widow moved to Morengo County, Alabama. Their children: Hancock; James; Lewis; Elizabeth; Jane; Lettie.
