'In 1877 Mr. [William] Stewart came to York county, Nebraska, and obtained a homestead on the north half of the southeast quarter of section 8, Waco township, on which he built a little frame house, 14 x 20 feet. He raised his first crop the following year. In 1886 he removed to section 6, of the same township, and 1893 located upon his present farm.'
