WILLIAM DONNAN STEVENSON, born November 21, 1919 who is being educated for his life's work. They are members of the Methodist Church and activein all phases of uplift. Ralph was in an auto accident April 1935 and waskilled. I do not know the circumstances but he was one who made up the36,000 killed that year. Burial was in the family plot. Dora and her onlyson William are living in lola, Kansas, a railroad center and a goodfarming community; it is also the county seat. William still being inschool, do not know what he intends to take up, but intends to go tocollege, interested in music and sports. We wish him success.

Notes by Joyce Hughes: Donnan is an attorney, and Sr. Partner in a Santa Fe law firm, Bigbee, Stephenson, Carpenter, Grout, & Olmstead. He became a justice of the Supreme Court in 1970, from which he retired in 1976.

Donnan served in the US Navy in WWII.

Mr. Stephensonwas born on November 21, 1919, in LeHarpe, KS. A Veteran of WWII heserved with the United States Navy abroad the U.S.S. Hendon #638 andreceived a Bronze Star. He retired as Lt. Commander USNR. He attended andand graduated from the University of Kansas and the University of KansasLaw School. He was a lawyer and Justice of the New Mexico State SupremeCourt. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He gave to many charities,including the'Donnan Stephenson' Lecture Series at Kansas University LawSchool. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe, NM. Heis survived by his sons, Mark Stephenson and wife, Kathy of El Rancho, NMand Bruce Stephenson and wife, Tarika of Santa Fe, NM. He is alsosurvived by his grandchildren, Autumn Stephenson of Albuquerque, Quinnand Erin Li Stephenson, both of Santa Fe. A Memorial Service will beconducted on Friday, January 14, at 2:00 p.m. at First PresbyterianChurch. A Reception will follow at the Palace Restaurant.
