[Alamance County_Feb 2006_backup.FTW] BURLINGTON — Mr. William Worth “Bum” Steele, 85, of 3214 Alamance Road, died at 11:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at his residence after two years of declining health. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs.. Margaret Euliss Steele, who survives, and the son of the late Arthur Ira Steele and Zora Clapp Steele. He was a retired supervisor from Randon and was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church. He was a U.S. Army infantry veteran of World War II. Survivors other than his wife of the home include three nephews, Ken Gwynn, Neal Gwynn, and Larry Steele; a niece, Sandra Farlow; three great-nieces; and three great-nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Alamance Lutheran Church by the Rev. James Lockley. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the residence. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to Alamance Lutheran Church Organ Fund, P.O. Box 250, Alamance, N.C. 27201.
