[States: Speculation is that William Snell was born between 1790-1800 in SC, and that he was the son of Elias Snell. Some think he went by the name John William Snell, however, John Snell born in 1794 married Elizabeth Nettles (this is not the same Annie Elizabeth Davis that married William Snell).
Note: William's widow [Annie] Elizabeth married Jacob Rikard in Dec 1838 in Monroe Co., AL. John is the grandson of Elias Snell, however, the relationship between John and William Snell [both lived in Monroe Co., AL] remains unknown to date.
I believe that William Snell came from Orangeburgh, SC and he is a descendant of Henrich Goss Shcnell of Germany (ancestor of Elias) - although parentage not proven at this time. A Y-DNA match would be the best option to find parentage.]
