    -----
[Summary of Janiejac note: There is conflicting information about William's death. This record calculates to be correct for this William. But there is a marker photo at Find-a-Grave which gives alternate information: Jan 1, 1942. And a relative has written to say he died in one year and was buried in the next year: 1941/1942.

There is NO SSDI for this person, nor for a William b 1874 who died in 1941 or 1942. But I have now found a second Thomas Smith who married Althera Johnson on the 1900 census. This Thomas Smith was born Dec 1874. Perhaps he is the person in this record. Only an examination of the death certificate will settle this. Until then, this page will use the information from the gravemarker, especially since a relative has written that this is correct. Also William T. and L. Fanny Smith share this gravemarker.]
