WILLIAM SIVYER WILL BE BURIED ON MONDAY: William Sivyer, brother of Charles Milwaukee Sivyer, first white child born in Milwaukee, died suddenly on Friday at his home in Chicago. He was 82 years old and had never been seriously ill. Services will be held Monday afternoon from the undertaking rooms of the George L. Thomas company, 467 Milwaukee Street. Charles Sivyer was buried from there a short time ago. He died at his California home. Interment will be at Fairview mausoleum. Mr. Sivyer spent almost his entire life in Chicago. He was a prominent member of the Old Settler's club of Chicago and had the distinction of belonging to the pioneer band that occupied "Old Fort Dearborn". Mr. Sivyer is survived by two sons, William and Warner Sivyer. His wife, Jessie Warner Sivyer, died recently.

  2.   Handwritten note by Louise W. Sivyer, grand-daughter: William Sivyer Jr. had been married before he met and married Jessie - he was married to Ella Storey of the Piano Company Storeys. She died in childbirth a year or so after the marriage. During the Civil War William was a Paymaster in the Union Army. When he was first eligible to vote, he voted for Abraham Lincoln. Like his brothers William went west to seek gold, but he did not venture to Australia. In later years he bought lots of rental properties in Chicago and collected the rents, and he bought and sold other kinds of real estate. He bought mercantile stores and hired people to run them. He was 52 years old when my father (Warner Sivyer) was born, and since he never had to go to work in the morning and come home in the evening, my father didn't know that he worked at all until he was 12 or 13 years old. Then he learned where their income came from.
