    "I have been researching my family history so that I can give my father a family tree for his 90th Birthday. Many of his Shilvock relatives came from the Halesowen area.

    I thought you might be interested to know that my Great Great Grandfather's brother, William Shilvock born in 1824 (sometimes mis-spelt as Shilcock), married Maria Price of Halesowen on 30th December 1844 and the witnesses were Joseph Price (Maria's brother) and Jane Rudge. Maria's father's name was also Joseph.

    There was also a marriage between another William Shilvock, christened on 25th December 1827 in Halesowen (sometimes mis-spelt as Shiloock), and Jane Price on 4th April 1858 in Halesowen. Jane was born in about 1828 - I wonder if she could have been Maria's sister.

    I think the 2 William's may have been cousins but I cannot prove it yet.
