WILLIAM T. SHEARERWilliam T. Shearer was born at Musselburgh, near Poole, 62 years ago and was the only son of the late George Shearer, on the township's pioneers and early merchants. Mr. Shearer until his retirement from the farm a few years ago, was always engaged in agriculture. He was married about 35 years ago to Mary Connell, now deceased, and has one daughter, Mrs. A. Robertson, of Galt. Five years ago Mr. Shearer married Miss Joan Hamilton, a former teacher for some years one of the most prominent Women's Institute workers and lecturersin Ontario. Mr. Shearer has made his quota of time to public service, having spent ten years in the township council, three as reeve in '19, '20 and '21 and five years as ssecretary -treasurerof the Mornington Telephone System. He has always been closely identified with the work of Knox Church, Millback, and was treasurer for about ten years.
