ALAMANCE — Mr. Haskell Sharpe, 80, of 4412 Alamance Baptist Loop, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005, at the residence of his niece, 2907 Elder Lane, Alamance. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Johnnie Brackett Sharpe and Bessie Ellen May Sharpe. He was a carpenter and a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs.. Maggie Lowe of Alamance, Mrs.. Mary Shoffner of Burlington, and Miss Gloria Sharpe of the home. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Miss Betty Lou Sharpe, Mrs.. Emma Wellons, and Miss Blondie Sharpe; and a brother, Mr. Johnny Sharpe. The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Mike Shannon. Burial will be in Friendship United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the residence of a niece, Angie May, 2907 Elder Lane, Alamance.
