William grew up in the Dana, IL area. William served as a wagoner in the US Infantry during World War I. He married Rose Marie Ehrnthaller ( b.23Feb1896, d.26Jun1960) of Toluca, IL. They married 26Sep1918 in Toluca,IL. Their children were: Francis M.,William F., R.Eileen, Eugene Joseph, Delores A., Colette, Donald, Gaylord and Thomas. William was a farmer who loved children. He taught his children how to work hard. He was a man of medium height(about 5ft.9in) and solid andslender build. He grew stockier in his older age. Both he and his wife died at the same time from head injuries in a car accident whenreturning home from a visit to their son Donald's farm near Wenona.
