  8.   Huntley, Anson County, North Carolina, in United States. 1820 U.S. Census Population Schedule. (National Archives Microfilm Publication M33).

    Sarah Rushing, 1 male under 10, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 16-25, 1 female under 10, 1 female 10-15, 2 females 16-25, 1 female 45+

  9. William and brother Phillip received deeds of gift of land in 1789, suggesting they may have been at least 21 at the time; William was third child named in father's will, making him more likely to have been about 21 in 1789 with Phillip somewhat older; based on Census records for 1790 and 1800, he had to be born by 1774; based on Census records for 1710, he had to be born after 1766.
  10. William Rushing cannot be found in the 1820 US Census. The only William Rushing age 45+ is in Bulloch County, Georgia, and he is most likely the father of William Grayson Rushing. There is a potential widow for this William in the 1820 Census for Anson County, North Carolina (see 1820 U.S. Census source), but more research is needed.
