[edit] Will of William RountreeWilliam ROWNTREE - Will Abstracts Source: Abstracts of Wills from Goochland Co., Va 1727-1777. William Rowntree Oct 1 1765/Sept 16 1766. DB 9 p.38-9. To son, Richard Rowntree, 200 acres land on both sides of Middle Creek joining Josias Payne’s line, 1 negro boy, 5 head of cattle. To son, Thomas Rowntree, a parcel called Brocks at mouth of creek that runs into Middle Creek estimated to contain 250 acres, 1 negro boy, feather bed and furniture. To son, Turner Rowntree, my manor plantation with all residue of said tract, 1 negro girl, furniture, feather-bed, copper still and copper kittle. To son, Randall Rowntree, 1 negro wench. To son, Dudley Rowntree, 1 negro fellow. To son, William Rowntree, 1 negro girl, also 10 pounds current money as recompense for his trouble in tending me in my sickness in Hanover Co., and 5 heaad of cattle. To grand-daughter Molley Bailey, 1 negro girl to ge delivered to my daughter, Betsey Bailey, to bring up and delivered to my grand-daughter at age 18 or when she marries. To grandson, John Murrell, 1 negro girl to ge delivered to Drury Murrell and to be delivered to his son when 21 years of age. To Drussiller Haden, 1 Negro boy and 30 geese. To dau. Molley, 1 negro wench, mair and colt, feather-bed and furniture, 36 dollars current money, 30 geese and 1 double loom for her kindness during my sickness. My negro fellow, Ripp, to be hired out from time to time and the proceeds to be used for the benefit of dau. Isebell, and her children. Residue of estate to be sold, the proceeds divided amoung the following children: Turner, Molley, Darcas, Drusiller and grnadson John Bailey when he reaches age 21. To grand-daughters, Martha Massie, Lewsy, Eliza., Leusender and Milley Goldsmith, 15 shillings each to be made into rings and delivered to each of them when they reach age 15. Ex: Sons, William, Turner and Randall Rowntree and Stoakes McCaul, and to each of them 40 pounds for serving as such. Wit: Josias Payne, Jr. and James Coalman.
