WILLIAM HENRY RHOADES (A.1) was born Jul 05, 1875 in Anderson Co., Tx, and died Apr 22, 1967 in Athens, Henderson Co., Tx (Source: Obituary Notice dated April 24, 1967:Funeral services for William Henry Rhodes,91, of Athens, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hassell & Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. R.C. Terry officiating. Burial will be in the Becks Chapel Cemetary near Athens. Mr. Rhodes died Saturday in an Athens Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Henderson County and lived in this county most of his life. He moved to Athens from Dallas about two years ago. He was a retired carpenter. Survivors include five sons, E.B. Rhodes of Borger, D.H. Rhodes and J.C. Rhodes, both of Dallas, Fowler Rhodes of Palestine, and W.M. Rhodes of Baytown; three daughters, Mrs. Tessie Hawkins of Dallas, Mrs. Ruby Williams of Athens, Mts. Thelma Ray Cupps of Baytown; one sister, Mrs. Cora Williams of Hico; 10 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Grandsons will be pallbearers.). He married PEARL OCIE WARD. She was born Apr 16, 1885 in Abbeyville, Al, and died Feb 22, 1936 in Eustace, Henderson Co.,Tx supplied by Mike Pruit :his wife is related to the Rhoades.My mother in law was Lula Mae Rhoades Markum whom father was James Andrew Rhoades whose father was James Hugh Long Rhoades, the brother of your John Andrew Jackson Rhoades.
