The Purdom family history in Ky. goes back to the earley 1800s, when that clan and others began moving into the Little South area of Casey County.Wiliam and his wife, Mary McBride were the frist Purdoms to settle in the area. He apparently died before 1850, because he is not listed on the Casey County Census, but his wife, who was 73 at the time and a 16 year -old boy, probably her grandson, were on the census.
