Potter, b. 1731, and d. 20 Jan., 1833; his first wife was Freelove Knight who died 6 Dec., 1829, ae. 70 years, 11 mos. And 4 days. Col. Potter and wife were from Rhode Island. He lived a Nassau, Rens. Co., N. Y., and when 75 years old would take his dog and gun and walk to Kinderhook or Stuyvesant and home in a day; the distance being about 36 miles, and have a good bag of quail, robins or other game to show for his day's tramp.
