"A Family Tapestry; Interwoven Threads of Some Anglo-Irish Families" Page 56, 57, 58: (L=pounds) Pg 56: "William Plowman, born 1716 at Newtown, near Dunlavin, a younger son of William Plowman and Ann, married Cordelia before 1742. He inherited his father's property, Newtown and Gilbinstown." Pg 60: pg 60: "All of their children were christened in Parish Church, Dunlavin."

"Prerogative Will of William Plowman of Newtown, Kildare, Gent. Bequeaths: To Grand-daughter Jane Plowman, daughter of eldest son Thomas Plowman, L150, secured to testator by bond from his grandson Humphrey Spencer; To Grand-daughters Hannah and Ann, daughters of said son Thomas, L100 between them. To Grandsons Thomas and James, sons of said Thomas, L100 between them. To Grandson William Wheatley, L50. To Grand-daughter Catherine Wheatley, L50. All said legacies to be paid when grandchildren reach 21, out of Testators' personal fortune and rent of his lands of Gilbinstown; To son Joseph Plowman, lands of Knockindurt, Co. Dublin; To friends Richard Bookey of Grangebegg, Co. Kildare, and James Kilbee of Cannycourt, Co. Kildare, Gent., lands of Mullawn, Co. Kildare, as trustees, they to allow Testator's eldest son Thomas to receive rents during his life and after his death Henry; if Henry die without son; lands to go to Thomas, third son of Testator's eldest son, Thomas, and he die childless to his brother James, fourth son of said Thomas. Also bequeaths to said trustees lands of Gilbinstown, they to allow the rent L16 per annum to Testator's son Joseph and allow Testator's grand-daughter Cordelia Power L6 per annum after decease of her husband if she survive him, and to allow Testator's son Thomas L30 per annum until aforementioned legacies be paid, he to have power afterwards to dispose of said lands between his children. All residue to son Thomas Executors: - son Thomas, Richard Bookey, James Kilbee Signed and sealed 3rd January, 1796. William Plowman Witnesses: Joshua Rawlins, Richard Fowler, Edward Fisher. Codicil. Revokes legacy to grand-daughter Jane after she married Alexander Andrews of City of Dublin, silk manufacturer, and her father having paid her L150 and another L50 as parriage portion. Signed, 25th Feb., 1797, William Plowman Witnesses: Richard Brownrigg, Josh. Rawlins. Probate granted, Thomas Plowman, son, 1st Sept., 1798."
