Page 1 This is the last Will and Testament of me William Pilkington of Little Butham in the County of Lincoln Farmer made this ninth day of August one thousand eight hundred and seventy three. I give and bequest unto my daughter Mary Jane Bull the wife of William Dudley Bull the sum of Nineteen Guineas I give and bequeath to my Housekeeper Jane [Poole/Postle?] the sum of Nineteen Guineas I give and bequeath unto my Son Charles Barnabas Pilkington the sum of Ten pounds I give and bequeath unto my Son Geroge Edward Pilkington one pair of silver table spoons one pair of silver sugar bows six plated tea spoons and one silver desert spoon I give and Bequeath unto my daughter Matilda Sophia Pilkington the Bed, Bedstead and Hangings Pillows and Bolster in the Bed Room commonly called my best Bedroom and also a pair of blankets a pair of sheets a pair of pillow covers a pair of silver table spoons and silver mustard pot and spoon, seven plated dessert spoons and the piece of needlework in the gilt frame I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Maria Emma Pilkington the Bed Bedstead and Hangings Pillows and Bolsters in the Bed Room which I usually occupy and also a pair of Blankets a pair of sheets a pair of pillow covers one pair of silver sugar bows eight silver tea spoons silver sugar [?] and six plated dessert spoons I give and Bequeath unto my Son Thomas James Pilkington one pair of silver table spoons one pair of silver salts and spoons and six plated dessert spoons I give and bequeath unto my Son Henry Smyth Pilkington one Silver flint and one pair of silver table spoons I give and bequeath unto my son Walter Thomas Pilkington eight silver tea spoons one silver cream jug and one pair of plated table spoons I give and bequeath unto my Brothers Matthew Pilkington of Clipsham in the County of Rutland Farmer and George Pilkington of Clipsham aforesaid Farrier and my friend John Harriss of Little Bytham aforesaid Farmer All the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever Upon trust to sell and convert into money so much of the said residuary personal estate and effects as shall not consist of money or linen and thereout pay all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and teh above named remaining legacies and subject thereto Upon trust to pay distribute and divide the balance Page 2or residue and also all my linen not hereinbefore specifically disposed of between and amongst my children George Edward Pilkington, William Brighty Pilkington, Thomas James Pilkington, Matilda Sophia Pilkington, Maria Emma Pilkington, Henry Smyth Pilkington and Walter Thomas Pilkington in equal shares and proportions to whom I give and bequeath the same accordingly I declare that the sum of thirty pounds which I have applied for the benefit of my son Walter Thomas Pilkington shall be taken as a satisfaction to that extent of the position provided for him by my Will And I also declare that any sum of money which my Executors may be called upon to pay under any guarantee or undertaking given by my on behalf of either of my said children shall be taken as a satisfaction to that extent of the portion provided for such child by my Will And I direct my said Trustees to permit the shares of each of my said children who may be residing abroad at the time of my decease to him or her without requiring strict proof that he or she is living at the date of my decease if they are satisfied by ordinary correspondence of the fact and the receipt of the Banker to whom such share shall be entrusted for transmission shall be a conclusive discharge to my Trustees and shall be taken as proof of the due payment of such share such Banker being considered for that purpose as the agent of the residuary legater to which such remittance is made And I appoint the said Matthew Pilkington, George Pilkington and John Harriss Executors of this my Will And lastly I revoke all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand the day and year first before written William Pilkington Signed by the said Testator William Pilkington as and for his last Will and Testament int he presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his sight and presence and in teh presence of each other have subscribed our names as witness Valentine Stapleton, Solicitor Stamford John Stokes, his Clerk
