- Pauley, William - born 3/2/1762 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia; entered service 1780 resided Montgomery County, Virginia, in Virginia regiment; granted Pension 1834 in Boone County, Kentucky; died 11/22/1838; married 4/11/1787 Margaret, daughter of Skidmore Munsey (Marriage Bond 4/11/1787 signed by Thomas A. Munsey, & witnessed by Abram Trigg), Montgomery County, Virginia, per certificate 1845 by that County court clerk Rice D. Montague & County Justice of the Peace Robert Gardner; widow granted Pension at age 77 Boone County, Indiana, 1845 when son John age 34; query letter in file says soldier was born in Wythe County, Virginia & buried Precinct Cemetery, Boone County, Indiana; query letter in file 1899 from great grandson Joe E. Pauley of LaFayette, Indiana says soldier moved from Virginia to Tennessee thence to Thorntown, Indiana. F-W10233, R1891.
