Note: William enlisted in Columbia County Wisconsin on 15 FEB 1864 in the Grand Army of the Republic and seved in the Civil War. He and his family lived in Linn Prairie, Dane County, Wisconsin; Columbus, Columbus County, Wisconsin; and Fairbault, Minnesota. He moved his family to Tulare, California in 1885 where they lived until 1891; 1891-1902 they lived in Santa Cruz, California; 1902-1910 in Berkeley, California; 1910-1915 in San Jose, California. After his wife died in 1915, he lived in the old soldiers home at Santelle where he died on 12 JULY 1916.
