William Green Parker Obituary
"Just before going to press yesterday morning news reached town of the death of Hon. W.G. Parker, which occurred at his home in the sixth district the night before. During the day, Wednesday, he was stricken with paralysis and lived only a few hours. Mr. Parker was the present representative from this county in the legislature. He was about 69 years old and is survived by his wife and three children.---Carroll County Democrat, December 8.
Mr. Parker was related to the Henderson County family of the same name, which has long made Wildersville its place of residence and of which family our townsmen, W.P. Parker and Dr. S.T. Parker, are members."
"PARKER, WILLIAM GREEN, Co I, pvt, enlisted for 1 year and mustered at Paducah, KY on 1/10/65 at age 18. Parker was a refuge living in Magnolia, IL at the time of his enlistement. He was 5'5" tall, fair complexion, black eyes, dark hair, a farmer, born in Carroll Co, TN. In March of 1865 he was on guard at the corral. He was discharged with the regiment when it disbanded at Nashville, TN on 8/9/65. He married Arena Evelyn Adams and owned a business in Cedar Grove, Carroll Co, TN. Parker was the representative for the county in the Tennessee Legislature when he died suddenly at about 69 years old on 12/6/1916. He is buried in Furgerson's Cemetery and has a military marker. His parents were Turner R and Elizabeth Davis Parker."
