William Palmer was baptised on 3rd October 1790 at Glapthorn in Northamptonshire, son of Jane Palmer, formerly Cannam, and her husband John Swan Palmer, a carpenter. William was the couple's second boy called William, suggesting the first had died young. Sadly, this William also appears to have died young; John and Jane had another son named William in 1802.
