Part 1; 1723-1738 {Antient Press}: pp 126 - THIS INDENTURE made this Twenty sixth day of November in the Third year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Britain France & Ireland, King, &c. and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and twenty nine, Between WILLIAM OWENS and REBECCA his Wife of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmorland of one part and JOHN BUCKLEY of the same place of the other part; That whereas WILLIAM PAINE, who intermarried with ELIZABETH HARNESS , one of the Sisters and Coheirs of EDWARD HARNESS, which sd. ELIZABETH was mother to the aforesd. REBECCA, did the Twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Thirteen bargain sell and convey to one GEORGE BROWN, late of the County aforesd., one hundred acres of land scituate in the FORREST of NOMINY, being part of a Patent granted to the aforesd. EDWARD HARNESS, and is bounded, Begining at a marked white Oak being a corner tree of this Land and the land late of the sd. GEORGE BROWN and from thence running North West one hundred and twenty one pole to a corner marked Chesnutt and from thence along a line of marked trees eighty two pole to a white Oak and from thence along a line of marked trees that divides this land from a parcell of land that was formerly granted to the aforesd. GEORGE BROWN and ELIAS MORRIS, to a corner Spanish Oak, from thence along the line of WILLIAM BROWN to a corner red Oak in the line that divides this land from the land of JAMES HAZLERIGG, from thence by a line of marked trees Southerly to the land of WILLIAM FRYER and along the sd. FRYERs line to the place where the same began; NOW THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that WILLIAM OWENS and REBECCA his Wife in consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds currant money to them in hand paid by JOHN BUCKLEY the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth release and for ever quit claime unto JOHN BUCKLEY and his heirs he now being in actual possession of the sd. One hundred acres of land by a purchase from the aforesd. JOHN BROWN, and all the Estate right of WILLIAM OWENS and REBECCA his Wife now have or which sd. REBECCA ought to have as heire to her Mother; In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have interchangably sett their hands and seals the day and year first above written

"On the above survey is 6 Settlements Viz: Wm. Owins late of Westmoreland Co. bought of Samuel Wilson Hunter lately a Resident. Darby McCarty late of Bucks Co. in Pens'a [Pennsylvania] produced a Certificate of his Good Behaviour, Healse __?__ another improvement which he bought of Joseph Richardson lying below Owins, George Neal late of Shannandoah but first from Pensilv'a, the other two settlements but I am informed are deserted, being little or no other than a small cabin built by Thornton.     Somerset, Pulaski, Ky. He is buried in the old Baptist Cemetery in Somerset, Pulaski, KY. He married Ann Chesney in Pulaski County, Kentucky, March 1816. Ann was born 30 January 1800 in Madison, KY; D. 3 September 1856. She is buried next to her husband.

    William Owens 2nd was born 1690 in VA. D 29 January 1751. He married Rebecca Paine (Payne) There are several Court actions regarding William in Westmoreland co., VA. William was the son of Henry Owens and Ann English

    Henry Owens was born abt. 1650 in VA. D. 1693 in Westmoreland, VA. He married Ann English in 1690. On July 21, 1693, Ann was appointed administratrix of his estate.
