- From my literature on William & Matilda, Matilda was born in 1748 and William was born in 1745 & died in 1774. Matilda was the daughter of Samuel Buchanan and Martha ?.
William & Matilda had 7 children: Nancy born about 1770 in North Carolina & died after 1855, she married in Lee County, VA. to Gilbert Stephens, Jesse born 1780 in North Carolina & died 1862/63 in Johnson County, Ky., Solomon, John, Ephriam, Nathan and Peggy. Jesse Osburn is the father of Lavina Osburn who is the mother of Wilkerson Osburn which is the father of my great great grandfather. I hope this helps some.
Also Matilda Buchanan Is in some way related to James Buchanan the 15th President of the USA
