    WILLIAM LEORY MILLS, 74, B. Junction City, Trinity County, d. Butte Meadows, June 1, 1974.
    Raised in Newville, Mr. Mills came to Afton in 1926 where he engaged in extensive farming operations.
    He was a director of the Sacramento River Levee District, the Glenn-Colusa Fire District, Marvin Chapel Cemetery District and of Princeton High School Board of Trustees.
    He was a member of Laurel Lodge of Masons, the Scottish Rite and York Rite and the Ben Ali Temple of Shriners, a member and past patron of Wild Rose Chapt., Order of Eastern Star, member of the Princeton Methodist Church. He was selected as an Honorary Member of the Future Farmers of America and also as Shriner of the Year in the late 1960's. He served with the California State Guard during World War II.
    Surviving him are his widow, Annie; a daughter, Sara Martin of Anaheim; and brothers, Leland and Arnold Powell, both of Willows.
    Funeral Services were held at F.D. Sweet and Son mortuary in Willows with interment following at Marvin Chapel, Afton. - Transcribed by M.
