Daily Times-News, The Wednesday, April 24, 1940 William W. MEBANE, 59, well known local paint contractor, died at Duke hospital this morning about ? o'clock. He had been critically ill for the past two months. A native of Alamance county, he was the son of the late Daniel Monroe MEBANE and the late Mrs.. Mary Jane Isley MEBANE. He was a member of the Macedonia Lutheran church of this city. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Macedonia church with Dr. Edward Fulenwider the officiating minister. Interment will be in Pine Hill cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.. Margaret Huffman MEBANE three daughters. Mrs.. Myrtle Smith, Mrs.. Men. Strange and Miss Nina MEBANE, all of Burlington; one son, CLARENCE MEBANE of Dothan, Alabama; six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs.. Sampson Allen
